Women’s volleyball leader Hyundai E&C becomes first to reach ’50 wins’

Hyundai E&C consolidated its lead atop the women’s volleyball standings and widened the gap between itself and second-place Heungkuk Life.

Hyundai E&C swept Heungkuk Life 3-0 (25:17 25:18 25:12) in the Dodram V League at Gimcheon Gymnasium today (May 5).

With its third straight win, Hyundai E&C reached the 50-point plateau for the first time this season (16W-5L).

They have the same number of wins and losses as league runner-up Heungkuk Life (16:5 – 44 points), which has played the same 21 games, but have widened the gap to six points.

Hyundai E&C dominated their opponents in all categories, including blocking (8:4), service points (10:3), and team attack success rate (53.24% : 34.48%).

Hyundai E&C’s Jupo Moma scored a team-high 13 points, while Lee Da-hyun and Jeong Ji-yoon both had 10 points.

In the men’s match at Gyeyang Gymnasium in Incheon, Korean Air defeated Woori Card to snap a two-game losing streak.

With the cool 3-0 (25:22 25:14 25:16) set win, third-ranked Korean Air moved to 12 wins, 9 losses and 38 points 토토 in the men’s competition, tied on points with second-ranked Samsung Fire (14 wins, 6 losses and 38 points).

The gap between them and leader Woori Card (15 wins, 6 losses, 42 points) is now four points.

Korean Air’s main gun, Lim Dong-hyuk, paced the team with 27 points and a 70 percent shooting percentage.
